AMCU Anniversary Party - Oct 2014

On October 19th, AMCU held its anniversary party at the Kowloon Union Church.  AMCU is grateful to Pastor Maggie for providing us with such a fantastic venue.  It was a wonderful afternoon with dishes from Indonesia and the Philippines, homemade cupcakes and beautiful performances from our sisters from the Chinese Rhenish Church.

On a slightly more serious note, there were 2 issues that were discussed.
1. Due to the popularity of the savings box trial, the service is now available to all members.  For those not in attendance, information will be posted to this website and our Facebook page shortly.
2. A lively discussion was held on the need for various types of insurance.  Most agreed that only a handful of insurance products were affordable for domestic workers, which are usually a combination of a savings and medical insurance available from their home countries.  There is a higher shortage of affordable preventive healthcare options for females workers, such as pap smears and mammograms.  This problem is noted by Sujata and Clarence and will be brought to the Board's attention.
